Dear Members

The Derek Dooley Award for Outstanding Achievement in Grassroots Football is now in its ninth year.  This Award has been specially commissioned in order to recognise and honour the outstanding contribution made by Derek Dooley to both the professional sides from Sheffield and for the grassroots game as a whole.    As from the year 2015 it was agreed with Derek’s widow Sylvia Dooley that it should not only be Sheffield based individuals who can be nominated for the Award but anyone from the whole of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County F.A. area.

The Derek Dooley Award is our opportunity to thank individuals for freely dedicating their time and effort to the game.

The calibre of individual suitable to be nominated and short listed for the Derek Dooley Award is extremely high.  Individuals must have made a significant difference through grassroots football in the County F.A. area and, have been influential and made a positive impact over a significant period of time.  In addition the person must be someone who selflessly helps others without looking for reward or recognition but certainly deserves it.

If you would like to nominate someone for the Award, please let us have full details either in writing or by e-mail to info@sheffieldfa.com no later than the 31st August, 2017.

The nominations will then be judged by an independent panel to decide the winner of the Award for 2017.

Regards
Carol Taylor
Assistant General Secretary
Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association
