Hi all, please see information below which I have received from the FA,  there are clubs/teams displaying this information on their websites, facebook, twitter etc for players under 18 - ie a photo of the child and their full name which enables them to be identified.  There are also clubs with player profiles displaying photos and full names, other information etc - it is recommended that these are removed to avoid any identification of children for safeguarding purposes.

I have also attached the FA photography guidelines which should make the message clearer.  The league rules regarding photography are that both teams must be asked before the start of the game whether they object to photographs/videoing taking place - they must be made aware of what the images will be used for and where they will be published - this is for both junior and senior football as there could still be Under 18's involved.

Many thanks.

As you may be aware safeguarding is our highest priority and clubs are still putting player information on websites.  This increases  the potential of the child or young person to be put at risk. We strongly recommend that clubs do not publish personal information about any player as this could lead to the identification of children when a photograph is accompanied by significant personal information that will assist a third party in identifying the child. This can lead, and has led, to children being ‘groomed’. The Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA strongly recommend that you DO NOT use player profiles and pictures with personal detail on social media or websites. Kind Regards Lisa Glaves
